Sustained By Grace.

Have you ever stopped to think about a blessing God gave you—one you prayed for, one you’re grateful for—but living inside it feels harder than you expected?

Not because it isn’t good.

Not because you don’t appreciate it.

But because every single day feels like a stretch.
Like you’re struggling—and yet, somehow, you’re still winning.

I’ve been sitting with that thought lately.

A close friend of mine was selected through the diversity lottery visa. One of those opportunities you hardly ever hear about. When it happens, it feels almost unreal. When she told me, we were overjoyed—truly overjoyed. Even now, that joy is still there.
But from the very beginning, the journey itself has been an uphill battle.

There’s the waiting.

Her position in the process.

The amount of money needed.

The uncertainty of timing.

What’s happening with migration policies that can make everything feel fragile overnight.

Almost every day, there’s something new that could cause worry. Moments where it feels like time might run out before her name is called.

And yet, every single day, she is carried through.

Watching her has quietly taught me something. Some opportunities God gives us are not meant to thrive on our strength or confidence. They are purely sustained by the daily grace of God.
This isn’t just about a visa. It’s not even about the opportunity itself. It’s about what God is inviting her into through it—a deeper dependence on Him. Through all the worry and uncertainty, God wants to reveal His power and presence to her.

Some blessings are God’s way of teaching us to trust Him completely. Not trusting Him for the whole process. Not trusting Him for the outcome. But trusting Him for today.
Because sometimes God doesn’t give grace for the entire road ahead.

Sometimes He gives grace for just that one day.
And when that day ends, you realize—you made it.

Not because it was easy.

But because you were carried.

You can focus so much on the struggle that you forget to notice the grace sustaining you. You can think the hardship is the story, when really the story is how God is showing Himself to you through it.
There is a deep satisfaction that comes from realizing that life is not about control, but about companionship. Knowing that you are walking with God—through the storm, the waiting, the sunshine, and the uncertainty. Knowing that you are a co-partner with Him.
That awareness brings a quiet joy.

So this is a reminder to you and I; let us not get too busy with the blessing that we forget the Blesser.

Let us slow down enough to notice the grace that carries us!

Let us see God’s hand in our everyday life.
Because sometimes, God doesn’t just want us to arrive, sometimes, He wants us to see Him carrying us along the way.

And that, too, is part of quietly becoming.
